Crisis forces Thai minister to quit
By Ocean on May 30, 2008 in Uncategorized
A senior minister has resigned from Thailand’s government under pressure from the military amid a growing political crisis that has fuelled rumours of a possible coup.
Jakrapob Penkair, a minister attached to the prime minister’s office, was accused of making comments insulting to Thailand’s much-revered king.
He announced his resignation just hours ahead of a planned anti-government rally in Bangkok on Friday evening.
